Setting your team’s shifts on GlamBook: a quick guide
Roll out weekly shifts, block days off, and hand the schedule to your staff without a WhatsApp thread. A 5-minute walkthrough for salon owners.
A salon runs on the shift board. When it lives on paper or in a WhatsApp thread, a Sunday cover always falls through. Here's the 5-minute path to hand that off to GlamBook.
Step 1: Set a default weekly pattern per stylist
Open Team → Shifts, pick a stylist, and set the days they normally work with start/end times. GlamBook treats this as the recurring baseline. You only touch it again when it genuinely changes.
Step 2: Add one-off exceptions
A stylist off next Thursday, or covering for someone this Sunday, is an exception, not a new baseline. Tap the specific day on their calendar and mark it off or extend the hours. The baseline stays untouched, so the next Thursday still shows as a work day.
Step 3: Block the days everyone's off
Poya, staff outings, festival closures. Set them at the facility level in Facility → Closures. The whole team's calendar closes; no need to edit each stylist. Bookings for those days stop being available on the client-facing salon page immediately.
Step 4: Share the read-only view
Each stylist logs in on their phone and sees only their own week, no WhatsApp forwarding required. Two nice side effects: no more "I didn't know I was working," and time-off requests move to the app where they get a paper trail.
The one rule
Edit the baseline for permanent changes; edit the day for one-off exceptions. Salons that mix the two end up with a schedule that drifts every month. The baseline stops meaning anything and everyone rechecks WhatsApp anyway. Keep the split clean and the app stays the source of truth.
